Google on ICS Face Unlock feature security: ‘Give us some credit’

25 October, 2011 (07:04) | Songs and Music, Technology News | By: Technology Expert

"Give us some credit," Google has responded, to a developer who had asserted its "Face Unlock," soon to be available in the upcoming Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), could be hacked with a photo.

The new feature, which intelligently matches specific portions of an end user's face in order to unlock their handset, was developed for Android by PittPatt, a Pittsburgh-based company that was acquired by Google earlier this year. It's not Siri, but it's something cool.

At any rate, Koushik Dutta (Koush), the lead developer of popular Android custom firmware CyanogenMod, remarked in a Tweet that "The face recognition unlock thing is really easily hackable. Show it a photo."

To that, Tim Bray, a Developer Advocate at Google, focusing on Android, replied, "Nope. Give us some credit."

It would, of course, have been foolish of Google to let such a security hole slip by. Apple was recently roasted when it was discovered the its new Siri feature allows bypassing the device's lock screen, giving anyone access to your device under certain circumstances.

However, this doesn't exclude a "Demolition Man" scenario. In that movie, starring Sylvester Stallone, Sandra Bullock, and Wesley Snipes, Snipes' character bypasses retinal verification by, ahem, acquiring someone's eye.

Sylvester Stallone on Bigg Boss 4

24 November, 2010 (09:58) | Bollywood Gossips, Songs and Music | By: Hassan Gulzar,Waqas Bosan

Bigg Boss 4′ is trying hard to attract the eye balls of the Hollywood audience to its reality show. Earlier, it was the Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson who entered the ‘Bigg Boss 4′ house for three days as a guest and now it can be the Rambo, Sylvester Stallone.

According to the sources close to the show, ‘Bigg Boss’ is planning to get Stallone on the show. The Hollywood star, who has already made a special appearance in the Akshay Kumar starer movie Kambakkht Ishq might be seen on Colors reality show ‘Bigg Boss 4′.
Since, Stallone is very popular in India, the TRP ratings of the show will surely soar high on his entry. But will Stallone agree to the offer is the question that still stands strong. However, if he agrees to the offer one can wonder what amount will he quote to enter the house after Pamela Anderson charging an amount of 2.5 crores for her short stay in the Bigg house.
However, there is buzz that Dolly Bindra is likely to enter ‘Bigg Boss 4′ house again after the entry of Sameer Soni. Looks like there are Bigg TRP’s waiting for ‘Bigg Boss’ house

The Expendables – Written and directed by Sylvester Stallone

13 August, 2010 (12:35) | Bollywood Gossips, Songs and Music | By: Buzzintown

The Expendables synopsis: Barney Ross (SYLVESTER STALLONE) is a man with nothing to lose; fearless and void of emotion he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane, and his team of loyal modern day warriors. He is a true cynic who describes what he does as 'removing those hard to get at stains'.

The team behind him is made up of Lee Christmas (JASON STATHAM), former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade, Yin Yang (JET LI), a master at close quarter combat, Hale Caesar (TERRY CREWS), who has known Barney for 10 years and is a long barrel weapons specialist, Toll Road (RANDY COUTURE), a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group and Gunnar Jensen (DOLPH LUNDGREN), a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons.

B-Town’s Expendables

12 August, 2010 (08:33) | Bollywood Gossips, Songs and Music | By: Hassan Gulzar

Who: Barney Ross

Played by: Sylvester Stallone
Desi replacement: Salman Khan
Why: Barney Ross is fearless and devoid of emotion -- sounds like Sallu. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane, and his team of loyal modern- day warriors. Salman can even cast his friends as warriors. And then there is that resemblance with Sly. A perfect fit, we say. Who: Yin Yang

Played by: Jet Li
Desi Replacement: Akshay Kumar
WHY: Yang is a master at close quarter combat who's quick on his feet and very difficult to defeat. Expect lots of action. And where there is action, there is Akki. Also he hasn't done a full-on action film in a while, so the audiences will lap this one up, if he's in it.

Who: Lee Christmas
Played by: Jason Statham
Desi Replacement: Saif Ali Khan
Why: Lee is a former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade. Saif is playing a secret agent in his upcoming film and if that isn't reason enough, right now he even has a fit physique. And that Brit accent, like Statham.

Who: Gunnar Jensen
Played by: Dolph Lundgren
Desi Replacement: Sunny Deol
Why: Jensen is a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons. Gunnar is some one you don't want to mess with. Have you seen Gadar? We rest our case.

Who: Hale Ceasar
Played by: Terry Crews
Desi Replacement: Sunil Shetty
Why: Ceaser has known Barney for 10 years and is a long barrel weapons specialist. His friendship with Barney has withstood the test of times. Anna is someone who stands by his friends, no matter what. Strong, trustworthy, and dependable, we'd cast him in a second in this part.

Who: Tool
Played by: Mickey Rourke
Desi Replacement: Sanjay Dutt
Why: Tool is a former Expendable, now an arms dealer and a tattoo parlour artist/owner. He loves getting inked as much as he loves blowing up people. Dutt loves guns and tattoos. Tailor-made, in our opinion.

Who: Toll Road
Played by: Randy Couture
Desi Replacement: Ajay Devgn
Why: Road is a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group. If there's anyone to turn for advice to, it has to be Toll. He's the strong and silent type. You can depend on him to be sane in the face of mayhem all around. Fits Devgn like a glove.

Who: Dan Paine
Played by: Steve Austin
Desi Replacement: John Abraham
Why: Paine is the bodyguard who protects his boss under any cost. After switching loyalties, he joins the Expendables on their mission. He sure has the biceps for the role. And he sounds like someone whose hands we'd put our lives in, without a moment's hesitation.

Who: Mr Church
Played by: Bruce Willis
Desi Replacement: Amitabh Bachchan
WHY: Church is the big boss, the man who hires the Expendables. They definitely respect him for all that he's been through. Now isn't that a role for Mr Bachchan?

Harman Baweja & Kareena Kapoor awarded as worst actors

17 March, 2010 (15:54) | Bollywood Gossips, Songs and Music | By: TURAB AWAN

In the style of Hollywood’s Razzies, the second Golden Kela awards was held this Friday night where actor Harman Baweja won the Worst Actor award for his performance in “What’s Your Raashee?” and Kareena Kapoor got the worst actress title for her role in “Kambakkht Ishq”. Interestingly, even Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards won the “Baawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke” (Have you gone muts) Award for participating in “Kambakkht Ishq” alongside Kareena and Akshay Kumar. The movie also won the worst film award, thus bagging in the highest number of ‘worst’ awards.

Abhishek Bachchan won the Dara Singh Award for worst accent in “Delhi-6″. Sporting as Abhishek is, he posted on twitter, “Another milestone in my career. I won the Golden Kela award for worst accent in ‘Delhi 6′. Chalo at least ‘Delhi-6′ won something. I’m overjoyed!”

The chief guest of the evening was Bollywood funnyman Cyrus Broacha, who was awarded the Cyrus Broacha Memorial Award. “It’s great. I’m thrilled. I hope to win this award every year,” Cyrus said.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar won the “Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya (Please stop its Enough) Award”!, asking him to stop making films. Ashutosh Gowariker was declared worst director for “What’s Your Raashee?” Jackky Bhagnani and Shruti Haasan were declared the worst newcomer actors for their roles in “Kal Kissne Dekha” and “Luck” respectively.

As expected, none of the stars named for the awards were present at the event.

“Kambakkht Ishq” won Golden Kela Awards as the worst film in 2009

16 March, 2010 (09:57) | Bollywood Gossips, Songs and Music | By: Kamrul

Sajid Nadiadwala directed “Kambakkht Ishq” was nominated as the worst film at Golden Kela Awards. However, its actress Kareena Kapoor was also voted the worst actress for her bad performance in this film. Not only that but also the two Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards, who shared the screen in this romantic comedy film, won the “Have You Gone CRAZY Award”. To get this disrespectful award, they had to beat stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Nikhil Advani. This award was announced at a gala in New Delhi on 12th March Friday. However, these two celebrities did not attend in this function. The organizer of this film said that these two stars wanted to attend in this program to support it.

The idea of Golden Kela Awards was taken from Hollywood’s Razzies that is the spoof of the Oscar. Razzies is awarded the worst of Hollywood. The award is decided by the vote through online for the ‘favourites’. This year almost 3,00,000 people gave their vote.
