Preview:The con man of Tees Maar Khan Akshay Kumar, will now be seen as an aspiring cricketer in his latest movie titled Patiala House. Directed by Nikhil Advani, Patiala House is a family drama told with Cricket as its backdrop. Anushka Sharma is cast opposite Akshay Kumar in the film while Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia play important supporting roles.
Akshay Kumar plays Parghat Singh Kahlon (Gattu) who belongs to a traditional Indian family that has settled down in England. He runs a corner shop in Southall, but is an aspiring fast bowler and is very keen on playing cricket for England. His father Gurtej Singh Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor) is a strict traditionalist and his mission is to ensure his family do not lose their Indian culture and identity. The film tells about the British Asian identity and the cross-generational conflict between a father and son.
Patiala House is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, and Krishan Kumar under the banner of People Tree Films Pvt. Ltd. and Credence Motion Picture. Screenplay is written by Nikhil Advani and Anvita Dutt Guptan. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has scored the music and Santosh Thundiyil has handled the camera for the film.


At Patiala House lives the Kahlon family ruled by Bauji. They follow his diktats as he tries to hold onto his 'Indian values' in the land of the 'goras'. Pakistans 'Prince of Pop Ali Zafar makes his debut through this film as Ali. Ali Zafar apart from playing a lead role has also sung two songs composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Barry John, Chinmay Mandelkar, Chirag Vohra, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Piyush Mishra forms the rest of the star cast and the film has been directed by Abhishek Sharma. The director himself has penned the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
