Shraddha Kapoor is Shakti Kapoor’s daughter
Shraddha Kapoor is barely one film old – her debut Teen Patti is still to hit the marquee – but she has already been signed for another film being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansa li.
The film, My Friend Pinto will be directed by Raghav Dar, who earlier assisted Mani Ratnam (Guru) and then was associate director on Abbas Tyrewala’s Jaane Tu … Ya Jaane Na. The film stars Pratik in the lead, and if the grapevine is to be believed, his onscreen love interest may be more than just a co-star in real life.
Incidentally, Shraddha Kapoor is Bollywood baddie Shakti Kapoor’s daughter.
The film requires new faces. After Pratik was finalised for the male lead, the production house was auditioning for the female lead. Several girls were screen-tested and a few were shortlisted, but it was Shraddha who caught director Raghav and Bhansali’s eye. Pratik has already started with a workshop for the film and Shraddha is also getting under the skin of her character,” says a source.
But the buzz is that Pratik and Shraddha have been good friends for some time now and often hang out together. While Raghav could not be reached for comment, Shraddha preferred to be non-committal. “I cannot comment on it, but I would love to work with Bhansali sir.” The movie also stars Manisha Koirala in a pivotal role.

A lot is being said and written about Shahid-Deepika’s visibly growing camaraderie these days. And considering Shahid’s famous past record, whereby he’s been linked to every single dame in B-town, the chances of him dating the sultry Deepika Padukone can’t be neglected completely. What say?
While the two are already being believed to be the new ‘IT’ couple of Bollywood, Shahid, who turns 29 this Thursday, has added fuel to the fire by inviting Dips to be a ‘special guest’ on his birthday bash.
Shahid and Deepika are apparently trying to get over their respective heartbreaks as they seem to be looking for comfort in each other. Grapevine has it that Shahid, who will be celebrating a secret party that director Siddharth Malhotra is planning for him, has secretly requested Malhotra to add Deepika’s name to the guest list.
A source reveals, “Shahid wants his birthday bash to be huge. He has had a good year and is in the mood to celebrate. Also, he wants to make it like a power event with the who`s who of the industry attending.”
Although they are not working on any film together, as of now, Shahid and Deepika are apparently very fond of each other. They met at a private party, and instantly clicked. A source says, “They are constantly on the phone with each other. There is a possibility that they will sign a film soon.”
And it’s not like our filmmakers are ignoring this new affair. “One of Shahid’s close friend is trying to work on the project. Deepika and Shahid are vaguely aware of the project and are definitely keen on working together since both of them are in-demand,” says a source.

Vidya Balan has got a tough job on hands, it seems. The actress, who is all set to play Jessica Lal’s sister Sabrina Lal in ‘No One Killed Jessica’, has been barred from taking cues from Sabrina to prepare for the same.
Don’t worry, there’s no political party or anything involved here, but filmmaker Gupta himself has decided to not let Balan meet Sabrina. Rajkumar, who is really looking forward to the project, wants Vidya to pull off the role in her own way.
According to a source, Gupta doesn’t want Vidya to meet Sabrina because he believes that she would then pick up the latter’s mannerisms and replicate Sabrina’s actions when filming. He wants her to do the role in a different manner.
‘No One Killed Jessica’ also stars actress Rani Mukerji in a very important role – that of a journalist on the lines of a firebrand reporter Barkha Dutt. However, Jessica Lal’s role will be played by a newcomer in the film. Grapevine has it that Kareena Kapoor had been approached for playing Jessica in the film, but the actress turned down the offer thinking that she would have had very little to do especially as the character gets murdered in the early part of the story.
Guess Vidya surely have to work really hard for it.
