In addition to confirming the earlier Kinect leak, Microsoft on Monday at E3 confirmed the new slim Xbox 360. The new version of the Xbox 360 has shipped to retailers, as well, with pricing of $299, while the old Elite goes for $249 and the Arcade will drop to $149.

The new Xbox 360 Slim comes with a 250GB hard drive and 802.11n wireless networking. Nicely, instead of being in an outside module, the hard drive is now inside the console. There's also a "custom Kinect port" on the back, and Microsoft touted the Slim's improvement quietness. Just like the Model T, it only comes in black.

Availability at retailers in North America is expected later this week.

For those in Europe, the wait will not be too long. Microsoft's Xbox Twitter account notes that the new slim version will be available there in about a month, on July 16th.
