Piracy will reduce job opportunity and revenue in India

It seems that Indian film and TV industry will have to fight against piracy. Piracy has caused a big threat for this country. If Indian government does not take any necessary steps then in the near future we can see that it will have to struggle hard for survive. Indian film and TV industry has great contribution to its economy. It has created nearly 1.8 million jobs and contributed $6.2 billion to its economy in 2008. According to a report `Economic Contribution of Indian Film and Television Industry’ by PricewaterhouseCoopers, it has been said that the film industry was in fact considerably impacted by online piracy. You should know that Indian film industry could not earn $959 million only for piracy. Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) chairman Dan Glickman said that if industry offers people product at reasonable price in a hassle free manner then people will not steal. In this way piracy will be stopped.

Motion Picture Distributors Association has undertaken a research study among the top ten countries in the world where it is seen that online piracy is high. Most of the people download movies or cinemas through online. Telugu and Tamil films are also most downloaded topics. Not only that but also cam is used to copy the film in theatres. It is the common use of piracy.

However, if piracy is not reduced then many people will loss job and Indian film and TV industry will contribute less amount of money to the Indian economy. No doubt, Indian government will suffer a lot if they failed to stop piracy.
